My story
“My father was killed during the war in Burundi. We fled to Uganda becaue the rebels wanted to kill my mother, as well. I grew up in a refugee camp in Nankulabye with my mother and five siblings. My mother cared for us by selling used clothes.
We did not go to school because my mother could not raise enough money to pay our fees. We started schooling after my mother became friends with a pastor, who agreed to pay our fees. But he stopped. I still wanted to go to school but I had no idea how to continue until I was able to join L.E.A.D Uganda this year. They put me into a top school – St. John Bosco Katende Primary School. My favorite subjects are English and Social Studies.
I want to be a lawyer in order to solve disputes and promte justice in our nation by protecting the innocent people who are suffering in this world.”
