My story

My parents divorced. I stay with my father and my two siblings. My father doesn’t have a job. He spends his days in the garden. In the evenings he goes drinking. My relatives helped me to study at a local high school because; I was the brightest among my siblings. However my school fees weren’t forthcoming and most of the times I would be chased back home for lack of school fees. Other kids in the village laughed at me in scorn because I was always in and out of school. I was getting tired of trying to stay in school.

I was about to drop out of school when L.E.A.D Uganda found me. One day, Mrs. Kasiita, a mother in L.E.A.D Uganda visited my family. I explained all that I was going through. She told me that at the end of the year L.E.A.D conducts interviews. She told me to apply, and if God is on my side, it could be the beginning of my bright future. I was brought to Kampala where I was interviewed. Later, I was informed that I was successful. I thanked God, that He had made a way.

I want to be a doctor to help my district recover from the hands of poverty and HIV/AIDS.
