L.E.A.D Uganda
Stephen Shames Foundation
The Stephen Shames Foundation DBA L.E.A.D Uganda raises money and awareness for L.E.A.D Uganda Limited in Uganda.
The Stephen Shames Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit. All United States donations are tax deductible.
100% of the money donated to sponsor students and money sent as a result of our fund-raising appeals goes directly towards the education and care of our students (AIDS orphans and former child soldiers, etc.) in Uganda. Our New York office and fund-raising expenses are paid by grants from Forefront Church, the Honickman Foundation, the Jacob & Malka Goldfarb Foundation, and from merchandise sales.
L.E.A.D Uganda
L.E.A.D Uganda transforms forgotten children into leaders.
We locate the brightest children living on the edges of society — AIDS orphans, former child soldiers, abducted girls, and child laborers. We give them a family so they heal. We educate them at the best schools so they gain the entrepreneurial skills they need to achieve their dreams and help their communities.

In Memory – Our Inspiration
Mike Forzley, Steve’s friend and mentor, who died too early from cancer. Mike’s work at Friends of the Children inspired us and provided a model for L.E.A.D Uganda. His guidance and service on the board helped us make this an exceptional program. He lives on forever in our hearts.
