Faith Based

We want to work with your church, synagogue, mosque, or temple to turn forgotten children into leaders.

L.E.A.D Uganda is happy to partner with faith-based and community based organizations that desire to create a better future for the children of this world.

Our current faith-based partners include:

Forefront Church

Over the past several years, Forefront Christian Church has been a major partner of L.E.A.D Uganda.  What began as a special offering taken at Christmas time in 2005 has turned into a long-term relationship between a New York City church and a Ugandan educational leadership initiative.  A team of people from Forefront even travelled to Uganda to put on educational seminars and spend time with the students.  Forefront is committed to the success of the students and the program, and continues to be an ongoing major financial contributor. www.forefrontchurch.com “They are an inspiring group of children that are striving in everything they do to take the heart-wrenching experiences they’ve had in their lives and to use them as the driving ambition to change, not only their own lives, but as many lives around them as they can.” ~Courtney Spencer, Ministry Team Leader

Church in Toronto

The youth at Church in Toronto recently put on a benefit concert and silent art auction to benefit L.E.A.D Uganda.  The students, in grades 7 through 12, raised almost $10,000.  www.churchintoronto.org “This event gave us new insight into what God meant in Matthew 5:6, ‘Let your light shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.’ One lady from our neighborhood said it was refreshing to see young people interested in those thousands of miles away when there was absolutely nothing in it for them.” ~ Ian Brinksman, Youth Pastor

Legacy Church

A new church in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania is partnering with us. Three members of the church visited our children in Uganda in January, 2010.  They ran workshops for our children. As their faith community begins to take shape, they want to have a focus on serving the world.  www.lvlegacy.org

Talmadge Hill Community Church

Since 2005, this Connecticut church has sponsored Proscovia, a young woman from northern Uganda who was abducted as a child, but is now excelling at a top school. Our students spoke to the congregation and stayed with local families for a weekend.

Saint Peter's Church

Saint Peter's has offered support and fellowship  for the past two years. The congregation has sponsored Derrick, an AIDS orphan, for the past two years. Our students have attended services at Saint Peter's.  www.saintpeters.org

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:14-17)
